CauseUnlike a double sole the under-run heel is caused by trauma such as a penetrating foreign body. This condition is caused by the presence of pus or other fluid between the sole and the tissues below. TreatmentTreatment is similar to that of double sole. The loose horn should be carefully pared away. Care must be taken to leave part of the wall at the heel to bear weight. It will take several days for the exposed sole to harden. ControlAs this is only an occasional accident, control measures cannot be described. |
